Mike brings a thoughtful, hands-on approach to every project he takes on. Since 2013, he has worked in sustainable tree care, land management, and property maintenance—starting as an apprentice and later becoming the owner of Canyon Tree and Land Services. His background includes extensive arborist experience, along with years of practical work focused on safety, sustainability, and doing things the right way.

Mike has completed multiple Marion County Riparian and Land Restoration Grant projects, helping restore sensitive areas, protect wildlife habitat, and improve the long-term health of the land. He believes in organic, low-impact practices whenever possible and in preserving the natural integrity of each property rather than forcing one-size-fits-all solutions.

As a licensed Oregon General Contractor, Mike also provides handyman and property improvement services. He’s upfront about what he can do himself and when Oregon regulations require a licensed specialist for electrical, plumbing, HVAC, or fire and life-safety work. When that’s the case, he helps coordinate trusted professionals and handles the prep, repair, and finishing work that can save homeowners time and money.

Mike grew up as an Air Force dependent, which gave him the opportunity to live in Germany, Belgium, Colorado, Wyoming, Oregon, and Hawaii. These experiences instilled a strong sense of adaptability, curiosity, and respect for different landscapes and communities.

Before entering the trades, Mike attended the University of Hawaiʻi, where he majored in Art. That creative background influences his attention to detail, problem-solving, and respect for how things fit together—whether he’s working on a home, a tree, or a piece of land.

Outside of work, Mike is a proud father—his daughter, Poppy, is the love of his life and his inspiration. When he’s not caring for land and homes, you can find him surfing, skateboarding, snowboarding, or paddleboarding on the river, enjoying the outdoors and staying connected to the natural world he works to protect.
